On Sunday 18 October 2026 it snowed in Andorra above 2,500 metres for the first time this season. The Arcalís ski area, in the parish of Ordino, and the Coll Blanc, in Pas de la Casa, turned white, according to videos shared by the resorts themselves and reported by the newspaper Bondia. The snow came with the isolated low-pressure system Adam, which brought a general drop in temperatures and rain to the rest of the country, and it kept snowing overnight at around 2,700 m.

This is a warning snowfall, not a base. Where it settled most, the layer was about three fingers deep, and the weather model we use at Caranva (Open-Meteo, calculated at each resort’s mid altitude) showed on 19 October less than 1 cm in 72 hours at Grandvalira and Ordino Arcalís, and another 1 to 2 cm over the following seven days. Precipitation should ease towards the end of the week. Even so, it is the sign that autumn has reached Andorra’s high mountains.

If you already have dates for December, ski rental in Ordino Arcalís can be booked online from €23.50 a day for a full adult set, and ski rental in Pas de la Casa from €26.

When the Andorran resorts open

Grandvalira plans to open the 2026/27 season on Friday 4 December 2026 and to close on 4 April 2027, snow permitting. Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís have the same opening date in the season calendar. These are scheduled dates: if the snow comes they hold, and if not they are pushed back. A one-day Grandvalira lift pass costs €69 for an adult.

The season pass at the Fira d’Andorra

From 23 to 25 October Grandvalira will be at the Fira d’Andorra, in Parc Central, Andorra la Vella (Friday and Saturday 11 am to 9 pm, Sunday 11 am to 7 pm), selling the 2026/27 season pass with a gift for purchases made on those days. For children there will be snowboard taster sessions with Burton Riglet (ages 4 to 10), a freestyle workshop (ages 8 to 16) and trampolines from Soldeu and El Tarter, plus inflatables from Pal Arinsal.

If you are skiing in those sectors, ski rental in Soldeu can be booked from €26 a day and ski rental in El Tarter from €23.

And in Baqueira?

In the Val d’Aran the first snow came earlier: on 8 October it was seen snowing at Beret, next to the Tuc de la Llança drag lift, with the snow line between 1,800 and 2,000 m in the Pyrenees. With the 18 October system, Baqueira barely added any snow: the model showed 0.1 cm in 72 hours and around 1 cm for the following seven days. The resort remains closed and plans to open on Saturday 28 November 2026, six days before Andorra. Ski rental in Baqueira can be booked online from €21 a day for a full adult set.
