You choose the level when booking; ski length and boot size are fitted when you collect.

• Beginner – for first-timers and people who only ski a few days a year: easy-turning, forgiving skis. Full set €22/day.
• Intermediate – if you already ski blue and red runs comfortably and want more stability. Full set €30/day.
• Advanced – for confident skiers with good technique who want precision at speed and on hard snow. Full set €42/day.
• Children – children's sizes, with bindings set to the child's weight. Full set €14/day.

There are no snowboards or cross-country skis on this page: it is alpine skiing only.

What each pack includes

• Full set: skis with adjusted bindings, boots and poles. From €22/day (children €14).
• Skis + poles (no boots): if you bring your own boots. From €16/day (children €10).
• Boots only: if you bring your own skis. From €9/day (children €6).

A helmet is not part of any pack and cannot be added to this booking: bring your own.

Where and when to collect and return

You collect the kit in Willingen. The exact collection point and its opening hours come in your booking confirmation email; on your last day you return everything to the same place. As the kit is already reserved in your name, you skip the queue to choose equipment.

The slopes start right by the village: according to the official website, it is about a 10-minute walk from Willingen railway station to the ski area, and there are large car parks right by the lifts.

How booking works

1. Choose the level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced or Children) and whether you want the full set, skis and poles only, or boots only.
2. Pick your first and last day on the slopes: the total appears straight away.
3. Pay online and get the confirmation email with the collection point in Willingen.
4. Collect your kit, fitted to you, and head up the mountain. If your plans change, cancellation is free up to 24 hours before.

Willingen at a glance

Willingen (Upland), in the Sauerland, is the largest ski area in the German state of Hesse. You ski on the Ettelsberg and the neighbouring slopes of Köhlerhagen, Ritzhagen and Sonnenhang: 17 km of groomed runs between 560 and 840 m and, at 2 km, the longest descent in the Sauerland. Lifts include the Ettelsberg gondola (1,400 m long, 8-seat cabins), the 8-seat K1 chairlift on the Köhlerhagen, the 6-seat Ritzhagen chairlift, 6 drag lifts and 6 magic carpets.

More than 13 km of runs have snowmaking, and 11 runs are floodlit for night skiing on Wednesdays and Fridays from 18:30 to 21:45 when snow conditions allow (with a separate evening ticket). Lifts generally run from 8:30 to 16:30. For beginners and children there are three Kinderland areas with magic carpets: on the Dorfwiese, by the gondola and at Ritzhagen.

2026/27 season: the ski area does not publish an opening date; its website says the season starts as soon as there is enough snow, natural or made by snow cannons when it is cold enough. Lift passes are not sold by CaranvaSports: buy them at the ticket offices or on skigebiet-willingen.de, which on 6 October 2026 still shows the 2025/26 prices. Passes for 3 to 7 days (Wintersport-Arena-Card) are also valid in other Sauerland ski areas such as Winterberg.
