Which range should I choose in Saint-Lary?

You choose the range when you book; the shop sets the ski length when you collect, based on your height, weight and ability.

• Bronze — for beginners and anyone who only skis a few days a year: skis that turn easily and forgive mistakes, ideal for the green and blue runs at Pla d'Adet. Full set from €24.50 a day.
• Silver — for skiers who are comfortable on blue and red runs and want more stability to explore all three sectors. From €30 a day.
• Gold — for advanced skiers after grip and precision at higher speeds, including the red and black runs through the Espiaube forest. From €38.50 a day.
• Platinum — for expert skiers who push their kit in any snow. From €49.50 a day.
• Ski touring (Platinum) — touring kit for skinning uphill under your own steam. From €51.50 a day.
• Cross-country (Platinum) — a full Nordic ski set, for the 3 km cross-country track in the Vallon du Portet. €28 a day.
• Kids — children's kit with the bindings set to the child's weight, in three ranges: Bronze from €19 a day, Silver €24.50 and Gold €40.
• Snowboard — board and boots: Bronze (Step On) from €30 a day, Silver €38.50, Gold €49.50, kids €24.50 and splitboard €61.

What does each package include?

• Full ski set: skis with the bindings set to your weight, height and ability, boots and poles.
• Skis only: if you bring your own boots. From €20.50 a day.
• Boots only: if you bring your own skis. From €12.50 a day.
• Full snowboard set: board and boots. You can also hire just the board (from €28 a day) or just the boots (from €12.50 a day).

Helmets are not included in any package and cannot be booked on this page.

How much does it cost to hire skis for several days in Saint-Lary?

Total price of the full set by number of days. In Saint-Lary every day costs the same: the total is the daily price multiplied by the number of days, and you see it when you pick your dates, before paying.

Where and when do I collect my kit?

• Pick-up point: our Saint-Lary shop (CaranvaSports Saint-Lary). The exact address is sent in your booking confirmation email.
• Opening hours: the pick-up point's hours are in the confirmation email, together with the address.
• Return: at the same place, at the end of your last hire day.

From the village you reach the slopes by the cable car, which leaves from the centre of Saint-Lary and takes you up to Pla d'Adet, or by the gondola. By car, the Espiaube sector starts right by its car parks at 1,650 m. During the season shuttle buses run around the village and the resort.

How does booking work?

1. Choose ski or snowboard, the range and the package (full set, skis or board only, boots only).
2. Pick your collection and return dates: the total appears straight away.
3. Enter each skier's height, weight, ability and shoe size, and pay online.

Saint-Lary-Soulan in brief

Saint-Lary-Soulan sits in the Aure valley in the Hautes-Pyrénées, about an hour and a half from Toulouse via the A64 (exit 16, Lannemezan) and the RD 929. From Spain you arrive through the Aragnouet-Bielsa tunnel, which links the Aure valley with Aragon; in winter, check that it is open before you set off. Without a car: train to Lannemezan, then the liO 963 coach to Saint-Lary; the nearest airport is Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées, 80 km away.

The resort dates from 1957, and you ski between 1,700 and 2,515 m across three sectors linked to the village by a cable car and a gondola. It covers 700 hectares and 100 km of pistes: 59 runs (7 green, 26 blue, 15 red and 11 black) served by 24 lifts (1 cable car, 2 gondolas, 10 chairlifts, 9 drag lifts and 2 covered magic carpets).

Pla d'Adet is the beginners' sector, with the ski schools, the nursery slope and the Kidpark, a 600 m fun trail for children aged 6 to 12. Espiaube, from 1,650 m, is crossed on blue and red runs to reach the upper slopes and has red and black runs through north-facing forest. The Vallon du Portet, above 2,000 m, reaches the Lac de l'Oule on the edge of the Pyrenees National Park and is home to the Col du Portet snowpark (around twenty features) and a 3 km cross-country track.
