The Aosta–Pila gondola climbs from the town (579 m) to the resort (1,805 m) in 18 minutes. With free parking at the bottom, it is the easiest way to reach Pila’s slopes.

The Aosta–Pila and Pila–Stella gondolas run until 2 May 2027, although the ski season ends on 11 April.
Where to board and where to park
The bottom station is at Strada Ponte Suaz 4 in Aosta, with a large free car park and an underpass from the railway station. Cabins seat 8. If you drive up to Pila, parking is paid: first 30 minutes free, €1 an hour from the 1st to the 3rd hour and €0.50 from the 4th, up to €10 a day.

Via the A5 Turin–Aosta motorway, exit Aosta Est; from France and Switzerland, through the Mont Blanc or Great St Bernard tunnels. By public transport: train to Aosta and the gondola, or the SVAP Aosta–Pila bus. Driving times to Pila are approximate.
Once in Pila
From the gondola top station, Plan Bois — the shop we book ski rental in Pila with — is about 900 m away, by the upper car park and about 190 m from the Gorraz–Grand Grimod chairlift. If you drive up, park at the top and collect your gear next door. For passes: Pila lift pass prices 2026/27.
