San Isidro Webcam Live: Cebolledo, Salencias and Snow Today

Webcam San Isidro en directo

Caranva Sports. |

Here are the San Isidro webcams live: the resort's two official cameras, in the Cebolledo and Salencias sectors, alongside the weather and snow right now at the base and at the top. San Isidro is in the Cantabrian Mountains, in Puebla de Lillo (León), next to the pass of the same name on the border with Asturias. Check them before you set off and you will know whether there is snow in San Isidro today.

San Isidro webcams live

Both San Isidro live cam images come from the resort's official cameras; the resort is run by the Diputación de León, the provincial council. They refresh every few minutes.

What to look for on the San Isidro webcams before you go up

  • Is the snow cover good? Look for grass or rocks showing between the runs. If you see bare patches, cover is thin and it is worth checking which runs the resort has open.
  • Is there fog? If the picture is grey and flat, there is fog or low cloud. Poor visibility makes skiing harder and more tiring.
  • What is the snow like? A matt, unmarked surface after a snowfall means powder. If it shines first thing, it is hard or icy; wait until mid-morning.
  • Is it windy? If you see snow blowing off the ridges or lifting over the runs, there is a strong wind up top. Check the gusts in the weather panel too.

When to check the webcams

Look at the cameras the night before to see whether it has snowed during the day, although they are dark at night. Check again between 8 and 9 am, once it is light, and look at the weather panel at the same time for the wind up top. Webcam and forecast together tell you more than either on its own.

Getting to San Isidro: road and snow chains

The resort sits next to the San Isidro pass, on the border between León and Asturias. There are no road cameras on this page, so use the resort cameras to see whether it has snowed and check road conditions at dgt.es or by calling 011 before you leave: when it snows, chains or winter tyres can be required on mountain passes.

If you want to see how other passes in the range are looking, there is the Pajares webcam, with DGT cameras on the N-630 and the AP-66.

If the webcam says yes: get your gear sorted

Caranva does not have a rental shop in San Isidro yet. The nearby resort where you can book your kit online is Leitariegos: see our ski hire in Leitariegos. If you are heading to another resort, there is ski hire at other resorts.
