Cerler ski resort: slopes, facts and getting there (2026/27)

Cerler is the ski resort of the Benasque valley, in the Pyrenees of Huesca, and is part of the Aramón group. According to its technical sheet, it has 81 km of skiable terrain spread over 74 runs, between a lowest point of 1,500 m and a top of 2,630 m, served by 19 lifts. There are two entry points with car parks, Cerler 1,500 and Ampriu 1,900, and the 2026/27 season is scheduled to open on 27 November 2026.

The resort in figures

  • Ski area: 81 km, 46 of them with artificial snow (529 snow cannons).
  • Altitude: from 1,500 m to 2,630 m.
  • Runs: 74 (10 green, 20 blue, 29 red and 15 black) plus 1 itinerary.
  • Lifts: 19 (3 six-seater chairlifts, 6 four-seater chairlifts, 4 drag lifts and 6 magic carpets), with a capacity of 27,966 skiers per hour.
  • Entry points: Cerler 1,500 and Ampriu 1,900, each with its own car park, ticket office and customer service desk.

Areas and runs by level

Beginners: there are beginner areas at Cota 2,000, Cerler 1,500 and the Ampriu 1,900 sector, with special lift passes for those areas. The ski schools have offices at all three.

Intermediate: the resort's signature descent is the 9Km, which Cerler itself presents as the longest skiable descent in the Pyrenees. It starts at the very top, at 2,630 m, and ends at Cerler 1,500 after nine kilometres and 1,130 m of vertical via Gallinero, Perdiz Blanca, Colladeta, Camino del Sarrau, Cota 2000, Robellóns and Les Pllanes. The resort rates it as suitable for intermediates and families.

Advanced and freestyle: with 29 red and 15 black runs, advanced skiers have plenty of terrain. The Rincón del Cielo sector has the Terrain Park, with its own lift and features for every level, and the Cronoslalom, a fenced run with permanent gates and timing, free to use from Thursday to Sunday. From the Basibé run in the Ampriu sector you reach the Boardercross.

With children: there are two snow gardens, one at each entry point. Ampriu takes children aged 1 to 6 and El Molino ages 2 to 6; places are limited, so book ahead. At Cota 2,000, the Bosque Encantado is a trail with skill challenges through mountain pines, and at Ampriu the Funny Track is an obstacle run designed for the whole family.

If you don't ski

At Ampriu 1,900 there is a terrace with a café and barbecue next to the car park, a snowshoe circuit, snowmobiles and Ampriu Park, a sledging area with its own conveyor lift. With a sightseeing ticket you can ride the Batisielles chairlift up to around 2,200 m, with views of the Aneto, Posets and Perdiguero peaks. From Cerler 1,500, the El Molino chairlift goes up to Cota 2,000.

Getting there and parking

From Barcelona, the resort recommends the A-2 to Barbastro, where signs for "Cerler" and "Valle de Benasque" begin. From Madrid and Zaragoza, drive to Huesca and continue on the A-22 towards Barbastro. From Pamplona and San Sebastián, the suggested route runs through Jaca, Sabiñánigo, Fiscal and Aínsa; after Aínsa, follow signs for Campo up to Cerler.

There are two public car parks, one at each entry point: Cerler 1,500 and Ampriu 1,900. At Ampriu you can also book a paid space in the area closest to the slopes. New this winter: the mayor of Benasque has stated that the Benasque–Cerler gondola will open in December, coinciding with the start of the ski season, with a proposed fare of €3.75 per ride.
