Ski levels and prices from

There are four levels. You choose one when booking; ski length and boot size are adjusted when you collect your kit.

• Beginner — for first-timers and anyone who skis only a few days a year: easy-turning, forgiving skis. Full set from €22/day.
• Intermediate — if you already ski blue and red runs comfortably and want more stability at speed. From €30/day.
• Advanced — for skiers who want precision on reds and blacks, such as the Fuchshang (red) or the Alte Standard (black). From €42/day.
• Kids — children's sizes with bindings set to the child's weight. From €14/day.

This page is for alpine skiing only: it does not include snowboards, cross-country or touring skis.

What each package includes

• Full set: skis with adjusted bindings, boots and poles. From €14/day (kids) to €42/day (Advanced).
• Skis + poles, no boots: if you bring your own boots. From €16/day for adults and €10/day for kids.
• Boots only: if you bring your own skis. From €9/day for adults and €6/day for kids.

A helmet is not part of any package and cannot be added to this booking, so bring your own.

Where and when to collect and return

The exact collection point in Balderschwang is sent in your booking confirmation email, together with instructions for collecting and returning the kit. You collect it at the start of your ski days and return it to the same place on the last day.

If you are driving, parking at the Schelpenbahn, inside the ski area itself, costs nothing for skiers; parking at the Riedberger Horn is paid. The lifts run daily from 9:00 to 16:00.

Balderschwang at a glance

Balderschwang is a mountain village of about 375 inhabitants at 1,044 m in Bavaria's Oberallgäu, inside the Nagelfluhkette nature park and at the foot of its local mountain, the Riedberger Horn. It is one of the five Hörnerdörfer villages and is reached over the Riedberg Pass (1,407 m). The ski area describes Balderschwang as Germany's most snow-sure ski village – and, just in case, can make snow on 80% of its slopes.

The Skigebiet Balderschwang has more than 40 km of slopes: 15.9 km blue, 14.2 km red, 5.0 km black and 5.9 km of ski routes, served by 12 lifts (3 chairlifts, 2 large T-bars, 6 beginner lifts and 1 snowtubing lift). It is built for families: ski kindergarten and childcare for toddlers, 10 mountain huts along the slopes, an Easy-Funpark and a permanent race course with timing. For a rest day there is a toboggan run at Gschwend II and 41 km of cross-country trails that cross into Austria as far as Hittisau (Vorarlberg).

2026/27 season: the lifts of the Hörnerdörfer start the winter on 4 December 2026, and the season is planned to run until Easter Monday, 29 March 2027, depending on snow. A one-day lift pass costs €49 for adults and €24 for children (born 2011–2020); a 6-day pass is €233 for adults. With the Hörner-Schnee(S)pass, sold from 3 days (€149.50 for adults), you can also ski Grasgehren, Bolsterlang, Ofterschwang and Fischen.
