Which ski range to choose in Panticosa
You pick the range when booking; the shop sets the ski length and boot size at pick-up based on your height, weight and level. Formigal-Panticosa has more red and black runs (50 and 41) than blues and greens, but in Panticosa the beginner area sits right at the top of the gondola.
- Mid — for beginners or if you already ski blues and the odd red: easy, versatile skis. Full set from €20 a day.
- High — for confident red-run skiers who want more grip and stability at speed. From €25 a day.
- Competition — demanding skis for expert skiers, on hard snow and at pace. From €35 a day.
- Junior — children's kit with bindings set to the child's weight. From €18 a day; skis and poles only €14, boots only €10.
- Snowboard — board and boots from €30 a day; board only €25, boots only €14.

How to book your ski hire in Panticosa
- Choose ski or snowboard, the range and the set (full, skis and poles or board only, boots only).
- Pick your collection date — it can be the day before your first ski day — and your return date: the total shows straight away.
- Enter each skier's height, weight, level and shoe size and pay online.
- Collect your kit at the Panticosa shop with no queue and walk to the gondola.
Sizes, boots and swaps
At pick-up they fit your boots and adjust the bindings. If anything doesn't feel right, they swap it there and then. Got your own boots? Hire skis and poles only; got skis? Just the boots.
Day-before pick-up and ski storage
If you reach Panticosa the evening before, collect your kit then and go straight to the gondola next morning. On Fridays the shop is open until 22:30, handy if you're arriving for the weekend. At the end of each day you can leave your skis at the shop and head back to the hotel without carrying them.
Panticosa-Biescas: where to stay and how to get up
On Google the area often appears as “Panticosa-Biescas”. Biescas sits at the entrance to the Tena Valley and many skiers stay there, in Sabiñánigo or in Panticosa itself; the resort even includes Biescas hotels in its hotel-and-pass packages. From Biescas you drive up the A-136 to the Panticosa turn-off. In the village, the resort shuttle bus runs past the hotels from the Argualas development to the bottom of the gondola. Formigal-Panticosa in brief
Panticosa and Formigal form a single Aramón resort, Formigal-Panticosa, in the Huesca Pyrenees. According to its official fact sheet it has 182 km of pistes, 147 runs (11 green, 40 blue, 50 red and 41 black) plus 5 itineraries, 38 lifts and an altitude range of 1,145 to 2,265 m. The Panticosa sector starts in the village: the gondola goes up to the beginner area, with magic carpets and easy runs, and to the snow garden at 1,900 m for children from age 2. The Panticosa ski school has desks at the bottom and top of the gondola.
To move between sectors there is a resort bus that stops in Escarrilla. Beginners can buy a beginners' pass valid only in the Panticosa sector (one gondola ride plus the Yanel, Tubo and Alimoche carpets). 2026/27 season: opening scheduled for 27 November 2026 and closing on 4 April 2027, according to Infonieve; opening depends on snow. Slopes are open 9:00 to 17:00. Road distances from the resort's website: Pamplona 164 km, Zaragoza 163 km, Bilbao 319 km, Barcelona 359 km and Toulouse 268 km.

Gloves, goggles and clothing: not for hire
Gloves, goggles, ski socks and thermal layers aren't hired out – they're bought. You can add them to your order on this page and the Panticosa shop will have them ready with your hire, so you collect everything together.
Tips for your Panticosa ski hire
- Book early for Christmas, February half-term, Easter and weekends: those are the busiest days.
- With young children, book the snow garden too: places are limited, according to the resort.
- If you're staying in Biescas or Sabiñánigo, collecting the day before saves a trip with the kit.

el horario de recogida es engañoso, ponía que se puede recoger de 8 a 19 h, llegamos a las 17:50 i estaba cerrado, así que hasta el día siguiente no pudimos recoger el material, corregir lo del horario.

Todo fue bien con la compra y el alquiler, excepto el último día, cuando a mi hijo le robaron la tabla de surf de alquiler durante la pausa del almuerzo. La tabla estaba junto con las de otros clientes y tuvimos que pagar 150 € por este incidente.

Quedé encantada con la chica de caja y el asesor que me entregó la tabla de snowboard. Sin embargo la chica que me dio la bota NO SIRVE PARA ESTARATENDIENDO AL CLIENTE. Grosera como le habló a un cliente y a mi su forma de contestarme muy mal educada. Si no le gusta lo que hace, que se vaya. Los clientes de esta tienda vamos felices por nuestro equipo en un dia vacacional, y esta señora te corta el buen humor con sus formas. El resto del equipo un 10.

Alquilamos un par de equipos completos durante 3 días. A favor trato inmejorable y horario amplio para poder devolver el material. En contra un par de cosas las botas que me dieron estoy seguro q más de 2 temporadas tenían y un uso frecuente con los ganchos al máximo de tobillo a los dedos del pie mucha holgura, Tuvimos la densidad en el último momento de añadir unas botas más al slquiler de los dos equipos nos lo cobraron a parte sin aplicar descuento no me parece justo pero entiendo q es lo q hay. Muchas gracias
