Ski hire in Passo Tonale

Book your ski rental for Passo Tonale online and collect your gear already set up for your size and level, with no queuing at the counter. With the same equipment you can ski the whole Pontedilegno-Tonale area (Adamello Ski): the pass itself, the Presena glacier, Ponte di Legno and Temù.

Where and when to collect

You collect and return your gear at the CaranvaSports pick-up point in Passo Tonale. The exact address, collection and return times and directions come in your booking confirmation email.

If you are staying in Ponte di Legno or Temù, the four areas are linked by slopes and lifts, and the resort consortium runs a ski bus between them.

How booking works

  1. Choose the level and whether you want a full set, skis + poles or boots only; add a helmet or insurance if you need them.
  2. Pick your collection and return days: the total is the daily price times the days.
  3. Enter each skier’s height, weight, level and shoe size and pay online.
  4. Get the email with the address and times, collect your gear without queuing and head for the slopes. Free cancellation up to 24 h before.

Passo Tonale at a glance

According to pontedilegnotonale.com, the consortium’s official website, the Pontedilegno-Tonale ski area (also known as Adamello Ski) links four areas – Passo Tonale, the Presena glacier, Ponte di Legno and Temù – with 100 km of connected slopes, 46 runs (13 blue, 25 red and 8 black) and 29 lifts, between 1,121 and 3,000 m.

Passo Tonale is the border between Lombardy and Trentino, at 1,884 m: a wide, sunny bowl with easy slopes and kids’ areas, scenic reds and a snowpark with a skicross course. From here start the black Paradiso (3 km, 710 m vertical) and the Presena–Tonale–Ponte di Legno direttissima, 11 km with 1,740 m of vertical.

For the 2026/27 season the consortium announces a 3,200-people-per-hour gondola at Passo Tonale replacing the chairlift, with its top station next to the Malga Valbiolo hut, and 10-seat panoramic cabins on the Paradiso gondola, which climbs towards the glacier. The 2026/27 lift pass prices run until 2 May 2027; the opening date has not been published yet.

The lift pass is not included in the hire. On the official website the 2026/27 adult day pass costs €52 to €70 depending on the period (€66 for much of the season) and the 6 consecutive day pass €160 to €345.

Getting there: the pass is 97 km from Trento, 118 km from Brescia and 166 km from Milan; Bergamo Orio al Serio airport is about 2 hours by car. By train you reach Malè on the Trento–Malè railway and then take the bus up to Passo del Tonale.

Passo Tonale, Ponte di Legno or Madonna di Campiglio?

The pass is the easiest base for learning and for families: wide slopes, sun into the afternoon and the lifts to the Presena glacier close by. Ponte di Legno and Temù, lower down, have runs through pine and fir forest. With the Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta pass you can also ski Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo, Folgarida-Marilleva and Pejo: 340 km of slopes and 145 lifts in total.
