The 2026/27 season is planned from 28 November 2026 to 4 April 2027, according to the Tauplitz lift company (subject to change).
In short: ski and snowboard hire at Die Tauplitz (Styria, Austria) with the local ski school and rental shop Vasold: full adult set (skis, boots, poles) from €30 a day and €125 for 6 days; kids from €18/day, snowboard set (board and boots) from €24/day. You book online and pay only 15% now; the other 85% is paid in the shop when you collect. Two pick-up points: Tauplitz-Ort and Tauplitzalm.
Ski hire in Tauplitz and on the Tauplitzalm
Die Tauplitz is Styria’s largest ski area: 43 km of pistes on three mountains – Mitterstein, Lawinenstein and Schneiderkogel – plus the Tauplitzalm, which is car-free in winter and linked to the ski area. From the valley (about 910 m) the lifts reach roughly 1,950 m, and the area is known as Styria’s best freeride terrain.
- Kids (up to 114 cm), Juniors (115–135 cm): kit is chosen by height, not age; the set includes skis, boots and poles.
- Adults (from 136 cm): the usual set for a week on snow.
- Top and Race: high-end skis; the price includes the boots.
- Ski touring: skis with skins, boots and poles.
- Snowboard: board and boots, in two board sizes (up to 130 cm and from 131 cm).

Where you collect
- Tauplitz-Ort: Tauplitz 277, right at the valley station of the four-seat chairlift. Daily 8:30 to 17:00 (shorter hours between seasons).
- Tauplitzalm: next to the Jugendgästehaus (formerly Hotel Kirchenwirt). Winter only, 9:15 to 15:45.
- The shop is also a ski school (children’s courses from age 4, snowboard, private lessons and cross-country) and does ski servicing: waxing, edge sharpening and binding checks.
