Formigal Parking: Where to Park in Sextas, Anayet and Portalet

Caranva Sports. |

Parking well in Formigal decides how your day starts: which access point you use to get onto the slopes, how far you walk in your ski boots and what time you need to leave your accommodation. Here's what the resort itself publishes about its car parks, with the 2025/26 season data as a reference until the 2026/27 figures come out. If you don't have equipment yet, book your ski rental in Formigal from €25/day for a full adult set and pick it up the evening before: that way you arrive at the car park already kitted out.

Slope access points with parking

According to the FAQ on the official Formigal-Panticosa website, there is parking at every access area of the resort: Sextas, Sarrios, Anayet and Portalet in the Formigal sector, and the gondola in the Panticosa sector. All of these areas have a café at the foot of the slopes that you can drive right up to, so they also work for anyone coming along who isn't skiing.

Sextas

This is the access point next to the Formigal village development. The Sextas building houses one of the two offices of the Formigal Spanish Ski School and the information point where lost property is kept. The resort has one of its beginner areas here, right by the car park, with magic carpets and easy runs. Sextas is also one of the three areas with parking spaces for rent for the whole season.

Anayet

Anayet is the other big access point in the Formigal sector and the only one where the resort sells reserved spaces by the day (the P1 car park, explained below). It has the second ski school office, another beginner area right by the car park and, next to the car park, the snow garden for children from 4 months old. If you're going with young children or with someone who's just starting, it's the most convenient access point.

Sarrios and Portalet

Sarrios and Portalet also have parking and ticket offices, but the official website doesn't publish their capacity or whether you have to pay. Portalet is on the A-136 road, on the way to the French border: before heading up, check the road and snow conditions on the Formigal and A-136 webcam. Watch the opening hours: on weekends and public holidays last season, the Sarrios and Portalet ticket offices opened from 8:30 to 15:00, Anayet's until 16:00 and Sextas's until 17:30. If you need to buy your lift pass mid-afternoon, don't count on Sarrios or Portalet.

Reserved space in Anayet (P1 car park)

The resort sells day access to the Anayet P1 car park. The booking guarantees an unnumbered space in that area on any day of the season, from 7:30 to 18:00. In 2025/26 it cost €7 on green days and €12 on red days of the resort's calendar. You can book online on the Formigal-Panticosa website or by emailing parkingformigal@formigal.com.

It makes most sense on long weekends, at Christmas and on weekends with fresh snow, when arriving late at Anayet can mean driving around looking for a space while everyone else is already on the chairlift.

Parking space for the whole season

If you're going to be up there a lot of days, the resort rents season spaces in three areas. The prices published for 2025/26 were:

  • Sextas: €890 for the season.
  • Anayet: €545 for the season.
  • Panticosa (gondola): €720 for the season.

The 2026/27 prices haven't been published yet, so check the official website before counting on them.

Leave the car and take the free bus

If you're staying in the Formigal village development, you may not need to move your car. The resort runs free transport between the development (stop at the clock in the square) and the Sextas and Anayet access points: in the 2025/26 season it ran every day between 8:15 and 17:00, with a more limited service up to the chalet area. Another free bus links the Formigal sector with the Panticosa sector, stopping in Escarrilla, and some of its departures go via Sallent de Gállego. Timetables may change from one season to the next.

For the driving route to the resort, see the guide on how to get to Formigal. And if you want to stay close to the access points, have a look at the hotels in Formigal.

Tips for parking without losing the morning

  • Arrive with your equipment already collected. Picking up your rental the evening before saves you a trip in the morning and you go straight to the car park.
  • Choose your access point by level. Beginners and families: Sextas or Anayet, where the learning areas are right by the car park.
  • Buy your lift pass beforehand. With the Formigal lift pass bought online you don't depend on each access point's ticket office hours.
  • Check what's open. The Formigal snow report tells you which sectors are running that day, so you don't park at an access point where the lifts are stopped.
  • Don't carry your skis every day. Look at the options for ski lockers in Formigal.
