Spitzingsee at a glance
The Spitzingsee-Tegernsee ski area spreads around the Stümpfling and the Roßkopf, right by Lake Spitzingsee (municipality of Schliersee, Upper Bavaria), and links the high Spitzingsee valley with the Tegernsee valley. According to the operator, the area lies between 1,100 and 1,800 m and its runs are mostly of medium difficulty. There are 10 runs: 3 easy (Funslope, Dreitannenhang and the Valepperalm practice slope), 5 intermediate (including the valley runs from the Stümpfling, Sutten and Kurvenlift) and 2 difficult (Roßkopfabfahrt and Grünseeabfahrt). They are served by two four-seater chairlifts (Stümpfling and Sutten), a two-seater chairlift up the Roßkopf and six drag lifts, among them the Kurvenlift, a drag lift that winds through bends.
For children there is a kids' park on the Valepper practice slope, right next to the Stümpflingbahn base station. There is a snow park on the Nordhang and, snow permitting, a funslope on the Osthang. On Thursdays and Fridays there is night skiing on the Stümpfling run from 18:30 to 21:30 (January to early March).
2026/27 season: the operator gives the winter season as December to the end of March, depending on weather and snow; as of 6 October no opening date has been published. A day lift pass costs €53 for adults and €25 for children aged 6 to 15 (plus a €3 deposit for the card). Alpen Plus multi-day passes are also valid at Brauneck-Wegscheid (Lenggries), Sudelfeld and the Wallberg.
Getting there: the RB 55 train runs hourly from Munich to Schliersee, and from there the RVO bus goes up to the Spitzingsee base stations. By car, go via Schliersee or, from the Tegernsee side, via Rottach-Egern to the Suttenbahn.
