Sudelfeld at a glance
Sudelfeld is one of the largest ski areas in Bavaria: about 80 km south of Munich, above Bayrischzell in the Wendelstein region, with 31 km of slopes for every level. According to the official piste map, it runs from 800 m (Bayrischzell) to 1,563 m, with 12 lifts. The two main ones are detachable chairlifts with heated seats and weather hoods: the eight-seater Sudelfeldkopfbahn (from 1,095 to 1,438 m, 3,500 people an hour) and the six-seater Waldkopfbahn, the main way in. 70% of the slopes have snowmaking.
By car it's about an hour from Munich: the A8 motorway (exit Weyarn or Irschenberg) and the B307 towards Bayrischzell, or the A93 (exit Brannenburg or Oberaudorf). There are 2,100 parking spaces, included with a lift pass (€15 without one). By train, the Bayerische Regiobahn (RB 55) runs hourly from Munich Hauptbahnhof to Bayrischzell, and from the station the ski bus takes you to the Waldkopfbahn base station.
For families there are two children's areas: the SNUKI-Kinderland next to the Waldkopfbahn base station, with a conveyor lift, and the Wintererlebnispark Tannerfeld on the edge of Bayrischzell, with a magic carpet and a snow-tubing run (separate entry; lift passes aren't valid there).
2026/27 season: no opening date for the lifts has been published yet; the official events calendar lists the Saisonopening (season opening party) on Sunday 13 December 2026. A day lift pass costs €55 for adults, €48 for 16–18-year-olds and €27 for children aged 6–15 (plus a €3 deposit for the card). Alpen Plus multi-day passes are also valid at Brauneck-Wegscheid (Lenggries), Spitzingsee-Tegernsee and Wallberg: 2 days €106, 3 out of 5 days €158, 6 out of 8 days €309 (adult).
