Book your ski gear for Hochoetz online and collect it at our Oetz shop already set up for your height, weight and ability, with no queues. It's the handiest shop if you're staying in Oetz or Sautens, at the entrance to the Ötztal valley, and a single booking can cover anything from 1 to 30 days.

Which range should I choose in Ötz?

You choose the range when you book; the shop sets the ski length when you collect, based on your height, weight and ability.

• Bronze — for beginners or anyone who only skis a few days a year: skis that are easy to turn. Full set from €24.50/day.
• Silver — for skiers who are already comfortable on blue and red runs and want more stability. From €30/day.
• Gold — for advanced skiers looking for precision and grip at higher speeds. From €38.50/day.
• Platinum — the shop's most technical range, for expert skiers. From €49.50/day.
• Ski touring and cross-country — touring set (Platinum) from €51.50/day and cross-country set from €28/day.
• Junior — children's skis in three ranges: Bronze from €19/day, Silver from €24.50 and Gold from €40.
• Snowboard — Bronze with Step On bindings from €30/day, Silver from €38.50, Gold from €49.50, Junior from €24.50 and splitboard (Platinum range) from €61.

What does each pack include?

• Full set: skis with bindings adjusted to your weight, height and ability, boots and poles (or board and boots for snowboarding).
• Skis or board: if you bring your own boots. From €20.50/day in Bronze.
• Boots: if you bring your own skis. From €12.50/day in Bronze and €10/day in Junior.

Helmets are not included in any pack and can't be booked on this page.

Ski rental prices in Ötz per day (2026/27 season)

Price for one day per person. At this shop every day costs the same: the total is the daily price multiplied by the number of days.

How much does it cost to hire skis for several days in Ötz?

Example for a family: two adults in Bronze (€147 each) and one child in Junior Bronze (€114) pay €408 for 6 days of full sets. For more than 7 days, the total appears as soon as you pick your dates.

Where and when do I collect my gear?

• Shop: our Oetz shop, a few metres from the Acherkogelbahn gondola that takes you up to the Hochoetz ski area. You receive the exact address and map with your booking.
• Pick-up hours: Monday to Sunday, 9:00 to 19:30.
• The afternoon before: you can collect your gear the day before your first ski day, within those hours, so you can head straight up on day one.
• Ski storage: the shop has ski lockers where you can leave your gear at the end of the day.
• Workshop: an in-house workshop for adjustments during your stay, plus a 3D foot scanner to find the boot that fits you.
• Return: to the same shop, at the end of your last hire day.

If you're arriving by train, the station is Ötztal Bahnhof, at the entrance to the valley; ski hire pick-up is not at Ötztal Bahnhof itself, but in Oetz.

How does booking work?

1. Choose ski or snowboard, then the range and the pack (full set, skis or board only, boots only).
2. Select your pick-up and return dates: the total shows up straight away.
3. Enter each person's shoe size (EU), height and weight; for snowboards, also your front foot.
4. Pay online and collect your fitted gear in Oetz. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pick-up.

Hochoetz at a glance

Hochoetz is the ski area right above Oetz, at the entrance to the Ötztal valley. According to the valley's official website, it has 41 km of runs for all levels and 15 lifts, and it's a family-friendly area: children and beginners have easy terrain around the top station of the Acherkogelbahn, and the Balbachtal offers wide, open slopes with no trees. In 2026, the Skiresort.de portal named it "Testsieger" (test winner) in the category for ski areas with up to 40 km of runs.

2026/27 season: the resort publishes prices from 4 December 2026 to 11 April 2027. We don't sell lift passes: an adult day pass costs €50.50 in low season, €63 in mid season and €66.50 in high season, and you buy it at the ticket offices or in the resort's online shop. Passes for 2 days or more are also valid in Kühtai.

Tips for ski hire in Oetz

• If you're hiring for the whole family, collect the afternoon before: on your first ski day you go straight up the Acherkogelbahn.
• If you're torn between two ranges, choose the one that matches the runs you already ski comfortably, not the ones you'd like to try: an easier ski is less tiring at the end of the day.
