Tips for Advanced Skiers
1. Choose the Ski According to the Terrain
Don't use piste skis in powder or freeride skis on groomed runs. Each ski has its optimal terrain.
2. Adjust Bindings Correctly
At an advanced level, the DIN must be well calibrated. Too low = unexpected releases. Too high = risk of injury.
3. Wax Regularly
At high speed, a well-waxed base makes a huge difference in glide and control.
4. Know Your Limits
Being advanced doesn't mean being invincible. Assess conditions, visibility, and terrain before going for it.
5. Ski with a Guide Off-Piste
For serious off-piste, hire a local guide who knows the terrain, snow conditions, and avalanche risks.

Frequently Asked Questions - Advanced Skis
What level is considered advanced?
Advanced level means mastering all slopes (green, blue, red, and black), skiing with control at high speed, handling moguls, and having experience in different types of snow.
Can I rent freeride skis for piste?
Not recommended. Freeride skis are wide and heavy, not agile on groomed pistes. Use all-mountain or piste skis.
What is the difference between advanced and competition skis?
Competition skis are even stiffer and more specific (slalom, giant slalom). Advanced skis are high performance but more versatile for recreational use.
Do I need insurance for off-piste?
Highly recommended. Mountain rescue insurance and medical coverage are essential for off-piste. Also consider carrying an ARVA, shovel, and probe.
Can I change the model during the rental?
Yes, if conditions change (from piste to powder, for example) you can change the model. Check availability in store.
What ski length should I choose?
For piste: your height or 5cm less. For all-mountain: your height. For freeride: your height + 5-10cm for better flotation.
Do you offer touring skis?
Yes, we have touring skis with pin or hybrid bindings. Check availability at resorts with off-piste access.
