Which level should you choose for Grandvalira?
- Beginner (from €23.50/day): for first-timers and anyone skiing a few days a year. Canillo suits them: according to Grandvalira, the sector has easy runs for learning in a quiet setting.
- Intermediate (from €29.50/day): for skiers comfortable on blues and reds who want to explore Grandvalira’s sectors.
- Advanced (from €39.50/day): skis with more grip and stability at speed, black runs included.
- Ski touring (from €31.50/day): kit for skinning uphill on the ski touring circuits.
- Kids (70-135) (from €13.50/day): children’s sets with bindings set to the child’s weight.
- Snowboard: board and boots from €27.50/day at Beginner, €34.50 at Intermediate and €39.50 at Advanced; kids from €15.50.
If your kit doesn’t feel right, the shop swaps it on the spot; to change level, ask at the shop.
How to book your ski hire in Canillo
- Choose skis or snowboard, the level and the pack: full set, skis and poles or board, or boots only.
- Pick your collection and return dates: the total appears straight away.
- Enter each person’s height, weight, ability and shoe size, and pay online. Nothing else to pay at the shop.

Sizes, boots and kids
You don’t need to know your ski length: the shop works it out from your details. You try the boots on at pick-up and, if they hurt, they’re swapped there and then. For children, enter their real weight, as the bindings are set from it. If you bring your own boots, book skis and poles (from €19.50/day); if you only need boots, from €12.50.
Canillo and Grandvalira in brief
Canillo is one of Grandvalira’s seven sectors, all linked by pistes: according to the resort, you can ski the whole area without taking your skis off. Grandvalira has 215 km of pistes, 142 runs and 74 lifts, with snowmaking on 66% of the terrain. From the centre of Canillo, an 8-seat gondola climbs to the El Forn valley, with easy learning slopes and the Mon(t) Magic kids’ circuit; from there you ski on to the other sectors.
2026/27 season: opening planned for 4 December 2026 and closing on 4 April 2027, with the slopes open 9am to 5pm; dates depend on snow. Lift passes aren’t included: you’ll find them on the Grandvalira lift pass page. Canillo is on the CG-2 road, about 20 minutes’ drive from Andorra la Vella, and served by bus lines L3 and L4.
Tips for skiing from Canillo
- Families: pair your hire with ski lessons in Grandvalira or the snow garden and nursery.
- Non-skiers: up top there’s the zip line and the Màgic Gliss, a 555 m toboggan run; in the village, the Palau de Gel ice rink.

Reservé mi alquiler de ski en Encamp a través de Caranva Sports y la experiencia fue excelente. El proceso online fue rápido y sencillo, el material estaba como nuevo y perfectamente ajustado. Una vez realizas la compra, inmediatamente se ponen en contacto contigo vía whatsapp para enviarte toda la información necesaria (ubicación de las tiendas de recogida, horarios…) con un trato muy simpático y siendo muy resolutivos. Además , el material estaba en perfectas condiciones, fue muy cómodo alquiler con esta empresa, la recomiendo.
El servicio para alquilar los equipos y las facilidades que nos han dado han sido impecables. Repetiré seguro.
