Lesson types and indicative prices

• Group lesson (2 h) – you learn with other students of a similar level. It is the usual way to start and to keep improving over several days in a row. Indicative price: €42 per day.
• Private lesson (2 h) – the instructor works with you alone, at your pace. A good choice if you want to progress quickly, fix something specific or would rather not start in a group. Indicative price: €89 per day.
• Lessons for children – group (€42 per day) or private (€89 per day), indicative prices. The minimum age and the lesson format are confirmed by the ski school.

When you book you choose your level: Beginner (never skied or only a little), Intermediate (you ski blue and red runs linking turns) or Advanced (you want to polish your technique on red and black runs). The indicative price is the same for all three levels.

Each day is a 2-hour lesson. The indicative total is the daily price multiplied by the number of days: there is no multi-day discount. We confirm the final price before the lesson.

How the request works, in 4 steps

1. Choose your level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced or Children), the lesson type (group or private, 2 hours) and the days.
2. Send the request without paying anything: it is 0% online.
3. We find a place at a local ski school in Balderschwang and email you the school, the meeting point, the time and the final price, always before the lesson.
4. Pay for the lesson at the ski school, directly. If we can't find a place, we tell you and you pay nothing.

Cancelling the request costs nothing as long as we haven't confirmed it. Once it is confirmed, we include the ski school's cancellation terms in the confirmation.

What the lesson does not include

• Lift pass: not included, you buy it separately. In the 2026/27 season a one-day pass costs €49 for adults and €24 for children (born 2011–2020), according to the official Skigebiet Balderschwang website.
• Equipment: skis, boots, poles and helmet are not included either. You can book ski hire in Balderschwang and ski clothing hire.

Tip: at Christmas, at Easter and at weekends ski schools fill up sooner. Send your request early to get more choice of times.

Learning to ski in Balderschwang

The Skigebiet Balderschwang has more than 40 km of pistes (15.9 km blue, 14.2 km red, 5.0 km black and 5.9 km of ski route) and 12 lifts, 6 of them practice lifts. According to its official website, children start on gently sloping beginner runs served by several practice lifts, and those with a bit more experience move on to the blue runs; the mascot Baldi keeps the little ones company. The ski area also advertises childcare for toddlers and a Skikindergarten (ski kindergarten).

Once you link your turns there are training runs: the red Fuchshang, the black Alte Standard and the FIS run Standard, plus a permanent race course with timing.

Lifts run daily from 9:00 to 16:00. 2026/27 season: according to the Hörnerdörfer tourist office, its lifts, including the Skigebiet Balderschwang, open on 4 December 2026 and are planned to run until Easter Monday, 29 March 2027.
