Ski school in Winterberg: book your ski lessons

This is where you book ski lessons in Winterberg without paying anything in advance. Types of lesson and indicative prices

• Group lesson (2 hours) — you learn with other skiers of a similar level. It is the usual way to start or to get your confidence back. Indicative price: €42 per person per day.
• Private lesson (2 hours) — the instructor is there just for you: pace and exercises are adapted to what you need. Useful if you want to progress fast or fix something specific. Indicative price: €89 per day.
• Children — ski lessons for little ones, in a group (€42 per day) or private (€89 per day), also indicative prices.

In your request you choose the level: Beginner (first time on skis or only a few days of skiing), Intermediate (you ski blue runs and want more confidence) or Advanced (red runs are no problem and you want to polish your technique).

Ski lessons in Winterberg: indicative prices by number of days

Each day is one 2-hour lesson. The total is the daily price multiplied by the number of days; we confirm the final price before the lesson.

How your request works, in 4 steps

1. Choose the level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced or Children), the type of lesson (Group or Private, 2 hours) and the days.
2. Send your request. You pay nothing online: 0% when you book.
3. We confirm by email the school, meeting point, time and final price, always before the lesson. If we cannot find a place, we tell you and you pay nothing.
4. Go to your lesson and pay directly at the school.

As long as we have not confirmed your request, cancelling it costs nothing. Once it is confirmed with the school, the school's cancellation terms apply, and we give you them in the confirmation.

What the lesson does not include

• Lift pass: not included. In the 2026/27 season a day pass for the Skiliftkarussell costs €53 for adults and €30 for children up to 15, and the morning pass (until 1 pm) €32 and €20. Note: children up to 5, who otherwise ski without a pass with a paying adult, do need a pass at ski school.
• Equipment: skis, boots and poles are not included. You can book them for the same days through our ski rental in Winterberg, along with ski clothing.

Book early if you are going at Christmas, in the school holidays or at a weekend: that is when lessons are most in demand.

The ski area: Winterberg

The Skiliftkarussell Winterberg is the largest ski area in the Sauerland: 34 runs and 27.5 km of pistes (14 km blue, 12 km red and 1.5 km black); together with Neuastenberg and Altastenberg it adds up to 45 km and 46 lifts on one pass. The season usually runs from mid-December to mid-March. No 2026/27 opening date has been published: it starts as soon as there is enough snow or it is cold enough to make it.

For learning: in the Kinderskiland at Herrloh (no. 21) children practise on about 10,000 m² with tipis, figures and courses, and ride back up on the 'magic carpet'. There are conveyor belts at Rauher Busch, Poppenberg, Kappe, Schneewittchen and Herrloh, and practice lifts at Herrloh, Landallift and Astenstraße. According to the official website, Winterberg offers group courses for children and adults as well as private lessons.
