Mayrhofen in a nutshell
Mayrhofen sits at the head of the Zillertal valley in the Austrian Tyrol, at 630 m. Its lifts, run by Mayrhofner Bergbahnen, make up Mountopolis: 142 km of slopes and 61 lifts spread over the Penken (630–2,095 m), Ahorn (670–1,965 m), Horberg (630–2,278 m), Rastkogel (1,300–2,500 m) and Eggalm (1,300–2,300 m). On average, 89% of the slopes lie above 1,700 m.
The Penken is home to the Harakiri, with a 78% gradient — Austria’s steepest slope, according to the resort — and to the Penkenpark, the snowpark with its own chairlift. The Ahorn, reached by the Ahornbahn, Austria’s largest gondola, is the quieter mountain: beginner areas, family activities and a 5.5 km run down to the valley. For children starting out, the KinderLand Horberg has magic carpets and T-bars. At the head of the Tux valley, the Hintertux glacier (1,500–3,250 m) is included in the Zillertaler Superskipass.
2026/27 season: the Penkenbahn and Horbergbahn run from 4 December 2026 to 11 April 2027; the Ahornbahn and Möslbahn from 12 December 2026 to 4 April 2027. Dates may change with the weather and conditions. The Snowbombing festival takes place from 4 to 9 April 2027.
We don’t sell lift passes: buy them at mayrhofen.at/tickets or at the ticket office. 2026/27 prices: the Mayrhofen day pass (Ahorn, Penken, Rastkogel and Eggalm) costs €82 for adults, €65.50 for young people born 2008–2011 and €37 for children born 2012–2020; children born on or after 1 January 2021 ski without a pass when accompanied by an adult. From 2 days you use the Zillertaler Superskipass, valid on every lift in the Zillertal, glacier included: €241 for 3 days and €399 for 6 days (adult).
