Learning to ski on the Feldberg
At 1,493 m, the Feldberg is the highest peak in the Black Forest. According to its official website, the ski area has 16 pistes, three conveyor lifts for learners (Förderbänder) and a Kinderland at the Seebuck; blue runs are the easy ones, suitable for children and beginners. The longest run, the Wiesenquelle, is about 3 km. Lifts run daily from 9:00 to 16:30, including public holidays (until 15:00 on 24 December). The 2025/26 season ran from 28 November 2025 to 6 April 2026, depending on snow; the 2026/27 dates have not been published yet. The official website lists eleven ski and snowboard schools around the Feldberg, and it's about 50 minutes by car from Freiburg.
