La Rosière in a nutshell
According to larosiere.net, the resort’s official website, La Rosière (Haute Tarentaise, Savoie) and La Thuile, in Italy’s Aosta Valley, together make up the Espace San Bernardo: a Franco-Italian ski area on a single lift pass, with 156 km of pistes (the distance certified by an independent body), between 1,176 and 2,800 m, and 39 lifts, 22 of them chairlifts. 45% of the runs are green or blue, 40% red and 15% black. In winter you cross the border on skis, over the Little St Bernard Pass.
The resort holds the Famille Plus family label and has areas where children learn through play (the Petit Saint-Bernard trail and the family Funcross), and the north face of Mont Valaisan hosts a Freeride World Tour Qualifier 4★ on 13 January 2027.
2026/27 season: the resort opens on Saturday 12 December 2026. The closing date hasn’t been published yet; in 2025/26 it closed on 18 April (12 April for the whole France-Italy ski area).
